Matthew 6:1-4

1“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 3But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. I don't know about you but this was convicting. How often do we do things simply for a pat on the back? I know when I was in the work world, I had amazing work ethics and was praised by my boss and sought out by others who needed certain jobs done in a timely manner. I thrived in that atmosphere and worked harder because I became a praise junkie, and yet, according to the above Scripture, that is the only reward I will...

Cataracts pt 4

So in Chapter 26 in Dr. Strydom's book, which is available HERE , the 5th Principle deals with managing our finances with faithfulness. Reading this gave me goosebumps as I felt confirmation from the Holy Spirit that I'm following His leading. Back when the new year started I also started tackling our lack of financial faithfulness and made a plan that was Biblically sound. So reading the 5th Principle was a fabulous confirmation for me and very encouraging, giving me hope and desire to continue this journey, even when it's not easy. So lets take a look at the Faithfulness Principles, shall we? We are on page 478 in the book linked above. 1. HARD WORK . I will admit, I was a bit mindblown at the comparison between the Israeli's work day and our North American work days....I definitely need to change how I do this. If I worked hard during the daylight hours, I would definitely be ready to sleep as soon as the sun goes down! The problem is, I'm still asleep when th...

Cataracts pt 3

Today, I'm beginning the work of sanctification of the soul (renewal of the mind) where I will counter the poisnous mind-set (Satan's lie) by studying the Word of God (which is the truth). Before I get into the Word, to do a study on forgiveness, I will be reading 3 other chapters in Dr. Strydom's book which will provide me with perspectives that will greatly help me in releasing hurt from relationships because the wounds run deep. So today's homework is to read chapter 26 and to read it slowly and absorb what is being said on the pages, asking Abba to reveal to me the areas He wants me to stop running away from. I invite you to join me, if you too have cataracts or have criticism or a judgmental spirit in your family history. Tomorrow I will read chapter 27 and on Friday I will read chapter 28. On Shabbat, I will be able to get into the word and read the study on Forgiveness. I will share the pages here, as I may or may not have more time to read and reflect over th...

Cataracts pt 2

And so the process begins! Yesterday, I began removing the blocks to healing reading and praying through pages 225-230 as reccommended. That was hard, as I was forced to come out of denial even more about my own actions that were caused by bitterness. I strongly recommend downloading the book , it is free. I will share the pages here but it's so much better to have the resource in your own hands. Click on each picture to make it bigger so you can read it. After praying through the prayers and Holy Spirit convicting me of things that I had done because of the bitterness I had held on to, it felt SO good! I literally felt lighter! I could start this new day fresh. His mercies truly are new every morning! What an amazing feeling!

If you don't yet have Dr. Strydom's latest book, you can find it HERE . On page 982, begins the section dealing with cataracts. Now first I just want to point out that not every issue has a sin root....we read this from Mayoclinic.org, "Most cataracts develop when aging or injury changes the tissue that makes up the eye's lens. Proteins and fibers in the lens begin to break down. This causes vision to become hazy or cloudy. Some disorders passed down from parents that cause other health problems can increase your risk of cataracts. Cataracts also can be caused by other eye conditions, past eye surgery or medical conditions such as diabetes. Long-term use of steroid medicines also may cause cataracts to develop." So we see even in the above quote, it can be passed down from parents which is the same thing as generational sin issues, but it can also develop from an injury or previous surgery on the eye etc. Okay so let's see what exactly IS the sin issue at p...

The Bible From a Medical Perspective/Medicine From a Biblical Perspective-Dr Strydom

After a year of going through the many videos and reading through the articles and book by Dr. MK Strydom, I'm finally at a point where it's time to put what I have been learning into practice. I've been sharing on Facebook a lot of the things I've been learning and that has generated some great conversations! But the bottom line is, I/we need to die to our fleshly desires if we want our lamp filled with oil and to have extra to last until Yeshua returns. I now understand why we can't share our oil with others, all I can do is encourage others to take the journey of sanctification along with me. All the videos for her conference are found on Youtube here, She has other videos on her Youtube channel as well regarding End Times, but I truly do think that that subject is a distraction from intimacy with Abba. He unveils various different patterns in Scripture to each of us, and because of the variety of our backgrounds, there is just as must variety in our interpre...

Parenting Tools

I recently attended HCOS Connect in Nanaimo and gleaned knowledge from a couple who shared their journey through parenting. Oh they were awesome! Check them out here They introduced practical ways to implement C.A.L.M. parenting techniques and how they fit every role we play throughout out children's lives. Whether it's the Caregiver role when our children are 0-5, the Cop role when they're 5-12, the Coach role when they're 12-18 or the Consultant role as adults. And they reinforced the fact that we need to be their main CHEERLEADERS throughout their lives....easy to say but they put it in measureable terms that made more sense to me....the ratio for positive to negative comments should be 20:1....oh dear, I need to work on that part. I know encouragement/cheerleading is definitely NOT my area of gifting!!! But with Yah, I can do all things and I am encouraged to change! I encourage you to listen to the podcast and glean some incredible helpful parenting tips. I wis...
